Welcome comment from Sudbury Youth

On behalf of the Sudbury Upper School student council we would like to register our total support for the keeping of Peoples Park Green, as opposed to a grey concrete jungle as proposed, too many housing developments in the Sudbury area have been passed in recent years some completed some not (awaiting for the current housing recession to pass in 5-10 years) that have not taken local peoples views into consideration, this land should be kept for the environmental impact it has on the town of Sudbury, its wildlife and the recreational and educational aspects, there are plenty of other brown field approved development sites in and around the Sudbury area that are awaiting development, Peoples Park should not be one of them.

A Poem from Bob

The love that we have of the town that we have

Will endure through all our years;

The love that we have of the Park that we have

Will conquer excess housing fears.

The health that we have of the Town that we have

Is fed by its wide open spaces;

The health that we have from the Park that we have

Is sustained by our loving embraces.

For health's sake, save People's Park!

A sincere letter of support from a local resident.

I have been using Peoples Park for walking my dogs since about 1994 and usually 2 or 3 times daily, I meet many other dog walkers on Peoples Park.
I am a keen photographer and some of the pictures provided (see pictures on web) are what I have taken on Peoples Park over the last 15 Years or so.
Approximately 5 Years ago an Acrobats Circus was held on Peoples Park, this was very popular and attended by many local residents.

I would like to offer my support to the PPPA by describing the value and personal meaning of People’s Park in Sudbury, Suffolk from my own perspective.

I grew-up in Sudbury and attended Uplands Middle School and Sudbury Upper School, walking to and from school every day across People’s Park for about eight years. This was a pleasant and safe journey and after school my friends and I frequently stopped and played in People’s Park.

During my childhood I developed an interest in entomology and used People’s Park as a collecting site for beetles, particularly dung beetles. This early interest in biology developed further and after studying biology in London has led to a career in the pharmaceutical industry where I have developed and launched several successful cancer drugs.

In summary based on my own personal experience I believe that People’s Park should remain as a park for the people of Sudbury because it provides significant recreational and educational value and enhances the overall quality of life of living in Sudbury. I have also enclosed a donation to support your legal expenses.
